Ionosphere Job with GAIM assimilation model at Univ. S. California

The Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, CA has an opening for a Senior Physicist who will play a major role in developing and applying the Global Assimilative Ionosphere Model (GAIM) jointly developed at JPL and the University of Southern California. GAIM is a data assimilation model of the Earth's ionosphere and upper atmosphere. The successful candidate will develop strategies for assimilating ionospheric measurements into GAIM and will maintain and extend the GAIM physics and assimilation codes. The Senior Physicist will oversee model validation and quality checking the data. Publishing research results in peer-reviewed publications is encouraged. This position requires a minimum of a BS in Physics or related discipline with 10+ yrs of experience, MS or PhD preferred with significant expertise in computational physics.
