(1) 2014 CEDAR Workshop poster abstracts and student registrations due Friday 16 May.
From Barbara Emery <emery at ucar.edu>.
The 2014 CEDAR Workshop poster abstracts and student registrations are due Friday 16 May. Students should sign up for dorm space while registering. A late fee of $75.00 is imposed on student registrations beginning on Monday, 19 May. Cancellations after May 16 incur a $15.00 charge. Information on expected airline fares, shuttles or ground transportation (not refunded), and dorms are listed under 'General Information' at the bottom of the workshop website at
Students should have their plane reservations to Carrie Appell <cappell at ucar.edu> by Monday 19 May if they want a refund at the start of the meeting. Late plane reservations may not be totally reimbursed if their prices are significantly different than what is listed in the student information.
Abstracts can be added later, but all participants should get their poster abstracts in on Friday May 16 or that weekend via their registration forms linked at the URL above. We are not asking for plenary or workshop abstracts, since we prefer to link to .pdfs of workshop or plenary talks on individual workshop pages or on the agenda at
(2) Invitation to participate in the CEDAR workshops: Dynamic Polar Cap on Wednesday, 25 June 2014
From Yanshi Huang (huangys at unm.edu).
We would like to invite you to participate in the Dynamic Polar Cap workshop on Wednesday, 25 June at 2014 CEDAR. Observations of polar cap outflows, polar cap patches, and Joule heating of ions and neutrals within the polar cap during magnetic storms have been reported and modeled. This workshop solicits short presentations on these and other polar cap phenomena with the overall goal of placing them into a unified framework of high-latitude dynamics. We encourage papers on observations from ground and space, models and theory. A round-table discussion will follow the presentations.
Please let us know if you would like to make a 10 minute presentation at this workshop.
