Dear CEDAR Community,

The time has arrived for us to select a COSPAR Commission C outstanding young scientist that we can put forth for the Zeldovich Medal. The young scientist must be under 36 years old on the last day of the year in which the medal is presented (2010). Please try to identify young scientists that we can nominate for the Commission C medal.

(2) MIT Haystack Observatory - REU Program applications due 1 Feb 2010.

Undergraduate science, mathematics, engineering, and computer science students are invited to apply for summer research positions at the MIT Haystack Observatory in Westford, MA. Research projects include radio astronomical studies, atmospheric physics investigations, and hardware and software development for data acquisition and processing. The program extends from June 1 to August 6, 2010 and carries a weekly stipend of $400.00. Women, minorities and students with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
