Professor/Associate Professor in Physics (Energy- and Environmental Physics) – Fixed term (reference number NT-56/09) – due 10 October.

The Department of Physics at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) invites applications for a fixed-term position until July 31, 2013 at the rank of associate or full professor in Physics – Energy- and Environmental Physics, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Currently within Energy and Environmental Physics, the Department has research activities in atmospheric physics with a focus on ultraviolet radiation, radiation transport and atmospheric dynamics; studies of hydrocarbons for increased oil and gas extraction; as well as a newly established activity within solar cells. Preference will be given to candidates with a broad physics background and solid scientific qualifications within one or more of the areas in which the energy and environmental physics groups work, especially in the areas of atmospheric physics or thermal solar energy.
