1989 CEDAR Workshop (#4)

1989, June 22-27 (Thursday-Tuesday), NIST auditorium and NCAR Mesa Lab, Boulder, Colorado

This fourth CEDAR Workshop started the traditions of the CEDAR Prize Lecture and CEDAR Postdoc reports.

The 'Workshop on Mechanisms for Tropospheric Effects of Solar Variability and the Quasi-Biennial Oscillation' organized by Dr. Susan Avery of the University of Colorado was held Tuesday-Wednesday, June 20-21, 2989 at NCAR (registration fee $10) to take advantage of the following CEDAR Workshop.

  • 1989 Poster Session: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM Saturday June 24, 1989 at NIST in the hall outside the main auditorium. 27 total posters
  • 1989 Extra-Curricular Activities
    • T-shirts and mugs sold with new CEDAR logo
    • 530-630 PM Thursday June 22, 1989 reception in the NCAR Mesa Lab Lobby
    • 630-800 PM Thursday June 22, 1989 buffet dinner at NCAR Mesa Lab cafeteria
    • 4 raft trips on Sunday June 25, 1989
      • 3 half-day 2.5h trips (53 went starting at 930 AM, 1 PM, 430 PM) on the Poudre River near Ft. Collins, CO ($18 with group discount)
      • 1 full-day trip (930 AM - 430 PM) on the Texas Creek in Brown's Canyon near Buena Vista, CO ($49 with lunch - 11 went)
